Plus, the Integrally Controlled Motor operates quietly, particularly during the first stage or low heat operation.  During continuous fan operation, the blower operates at 50% of cooling airflow, so sound is minimized.  And because it operates at slower speeds, your indoor air quality will greatly improve.  A slower fan speed means more unwanted particles cling to the air filter, allowing cleaner air to flow into your home. The XV 90's two-stage heating virtually eliminates the discomfort of temperature swings caused by short cycling - a situation common to single-stage furnaces.  This unit operates on the 1st stage more than 80% of the time, delivering more even, continuous heating.  It switches to high heat stage ONLY when absolutely necessary.  And while the furnace may actually run longer, it ultimately uses less energy on the lower-stage operation than a single-stage furnace saving you on your winter utility bills.
